Make a Logbook Entry
Flight Details Overview
Basic flight information is displayed at the top of the form. Additional fields (e.g., night time, duty times, operations) can be toggled or auto-filled based on user settings in the Settings.
Flight Entry
Core Fields
Entry Type: Select the type of entry from a dropdown menu:
Flight (default, with airplane icon)
Simulator (game controller icon)
Position (airplane seat icon)
Changing the type resets certain fields based on the selected domain.
Date: Set the date of the flight using a date picker (UTC timezone). Changing the date adjusts all associated times (e.g., Out, Off, On, In) accordingly.
Domain: Choose the operational domain:
Commercial (e.g., airline flights)
General Aviation
UAV (drones)
Changing the domain resets fields to match the new context (e.g., removing crew fields for UAV).
Flight Number (Commercial only): Enter a flight number manually or use the default prefix from settings. Swipe left to clear.
Aircraft: Select an aircraft from the database or create a new one. Displays registration and type (if available). Swipe left to remove.
From - To (Non-UAV):
Enter ICAO codes manually or select from a database of favorite/recent airports.
Use the location-aware button to auto-fill with the nearest airport (within proximity) based on device location.
Swipe left to clear.
Great Circle Distance is calculated and displayed in the footer when both fields are filled.
Operation Area (UAV only):
Enter or select a coordinate and radius (e.g., "lat,lon:50m") using an interactive map.
Displays coordinates in a readable format (e.g., 3 decimal places).
Swipe left to clear.
Times
Scheduled Times (Commercial only)
Scheduled Out (SDT): Set the scheduled departure time. Used to suggest duty start times.
Scheduled In (SAT): Set the scheduled arrival time.
Actual Times
Out: Time the aircraft leaves the gate (non-UAV).
Off: Takeoff time.
On: Landing time.
In: Time the aircraft arrives at the gate (non-UAV).
Times use a TimePicker with fallback logic (e.g., Off falls back to Out if not set).
Block Time: Automatically calculated as the difference between Out and In.
Air Time: Automatically calculated as the difference between Off and On (optional auto-fill in settings).
Scheduled Block: Calculated from SDT to SAT if actual times are unavailable.
Arrival Delta: Difference between SAT and In, shown in the footer.
Function Times
Log specific times based on role or conditions. Fields can be toggled in settings and auto-filled from total time.
Total Time: Block time (non-UAV) or air time (UAV).
Air Time: Time airborne (non-UAV).
Night: Automatically calculated using an algorithm based on takeoff/landing times and airport coordinates (1-minute precision).
IFR: Instrument flight rules time.
PIC: Pilot-in-Command time.
PICUS: PIC under supervision.
SIC: Second-in-Command time.
Single-Pilot:
Displays if aircraft is single-crew.
Choose between Single Engine (SE) or Multi Engine (ME) via a segmented picker.
Multi-Pilot: Multi-crew time.
X-Country: Cross-country time (auto-filled based on distance and regulatory body: EASA or FAA).
Instruction (toggle):
Dual Received: Time receiving instruction.
Dual Given: Time giving instruction (commercial uses "Instructor" label).
Duty Times (Commercial only)
Duty State: Segmented picker with options:
Start: Logs Duty Start and FDP Start.
End: Logs Duty End and FDP End.
Duty Start/End: Set start and end of duty day.
FDP Start/End: Flight Duty Period times.
Times auto-adjust based on SDT/In and settings (e.g., subtract/add minutes). Use the "Adjust" menu to reset based on defaults.
Crew
PIC/P1: Pilot-in-Command (non-UAV).
SIC/P2: Second-in-Command (non-UAV).
Instructor: Assign an instructor (sets Instruction toggle).
If self-assigned and instruction is enabled, logs Dual Given; otherwise, logs Dual Received.
Operator (UAV only): Logs the UAV operator.
Select crew from the database or create new entries. Swipe left to remove.
Operations
Pilot Flying (PF) (non-UAV): Toggle to auto-fill takeoff/landing counts.
Landing (non-UAV): Toggle to enable landing counts (requires PF).
Day/Night Picker: Switch between:
Day: Logs daytime takeoffs/landings.
Night: Logs nighttime takeoffs/landings (auto-detected based on time and coordinates).
Takeoffs/Landings: Use steppers to adjust counts (disabled if PF is off).
Hold: Log holding patterns (non-UAV).
Approach: Select approach types (e.g., ILS) for the destination airport (non-UAV). Displays go-arounds and autolands in the footer.
Miscellaneous
Total Pax (Commercial/General Aviation): Enter the number of passengers.
Remarks: Free-text field for additional notes (multi-line).
Image: Attach a photo to the entry.
Signature
Add a signature via the menu (or toolbar on iPad).
Locks the flight entry after saving, preventing edits unless unlocked (removes signature).
Includes holder details and prints on PDF exports.
ADS-B Integration
Fetch real-time flight data using the ADS-B button (requires flight number or aircraft registration).
Available for flights within the last 14 days.
Populates fields like From, To, times, and aircraft details and landing runway.
Limited by available calls (tracked in Settings > Subscription).
Auto-Fill and Calculations
Times: Block, air, and night times are calculated automatically when relevant fields are filled.
Takeoffs/Landings: Auto-filled for PF based on night/day detection.
Distance: Great Circle Distance calculated from From/To coordinates.
Settings: Auto-fill preferences (e.g., PIC, IFR) can be configured in Settings > Logbook > Autofills and Defaults.
