Limits & Currencies

The “Limits” section in your logbook tracks the maximum allowable flight or duty times set by aviation regulations (e.g., EASA). Here’s what each limit means and how to use it:

Accessing Limits:

• Navigate to the Hub section of your logbook.

• Within the Hub, locate the Limits section.

FDP (Flight Duty Period):

This represents the total time you are allowed to be on duty within specific timeframes.

Examples in your logbook:

• 7 Days: Maximum allowable duty hours in the past or upcoming 7 days.

• 14 Days: Maximum allowable duty hours over 14 days.

• 28 Days: Maximum allowable duty hours over 28 days.

Tip: Regularly monitor your FDP to ensure compliance and avoid exceeding the limits.

Block Time:

This is the time spent flying, measured from the moment the aircraft starts moving to when it stops.

Examples in your logbook:

• 28 Days: Total flying hours allowed within a rolling 28-day period.

• 12 Months: Total flying hours allowed within the past or upcoming year.

• Yearly Block (2025): Total flying hours allowed for the entire year.

Tip: Use this to track your progress and ensure you’re not approaching your maximum limits.

How to Access Currencies and Their Meaning

Accessing Currencies:

  1. To add Currencies navigate to your Logbook > Library > Certificates. You can view them from this section but also in the Hub.

  2. Navigate to the Hub section of your logbook.

  3. Within the Hub, locate the Currencies section.

What Currencies Mean:

Currencies track the validity and compliance of your essential certificates and qualifications. They ensure that your documents are up-to-date and meet regulatory requirements. Here’s what you might see in the Currencies section:

1. Medical Certificate: Ensures that your medical examination is valid for flight duties.

2. License: Verifies that your pilot license is current and valid.

3. Type Rating: Confirms that you are certified to operate specific aircraft types.

4. Cat-C Airport Certification: Validates your authorization to land or operate at Category-C airports.

5. Passport: Indicates if your travel document is up-to-date for international flights.

6. Visa: Shows if you have the necessary visas for countries you fly to.

7. Company ID: Confirms that your company-issued identification is valid.

How It Works:

When you enter your certificate details (e.g., issue date, expiry date), the app automatically tracks and displays their status in the Currencies section. If a certificate is about to expire or has expired, it will alert you to take action, ensuring you remain compliant.
